Optical Illusion Series - Up or Down?

Up or Down? is one of 7 pieces in the Optical Illusion Series. This series explores the fascinating gap between what we see and what we believe we see. Through needle and thread, these finished designs invite the viewer to pause, look again, and discover that perception is often as creative as the audience. The designs in this collection allow you to create beautiful, contemporary pieces sure to spark conversations. The Up or Down? design suggests an image of a tunnel. The viewer must determine whether they are going up or down through the tunnel. 

Up or Down? is an easy piece perfect for beginners. It gives the stitcher a manageable project and great satisfaction upon completion. Because it is a rather straightforward piece, stitching is rhythmic and relaxing. It is very easy to do this piece and enjoy a movie, series or conversations with friends at the same time. In the techniques section found on the home page there are several tips designed for beginning stitchers. 

The most of Optical Illusion Series is perfect for beginning stitchers. Stitching this series will build skills and result in a full collection of complimentary pieces perfect for framing.

This kit is offered in three different fabric sizes from which you can choose: 14 count, 18 count, and 28 count. As always, 14 count is the easiest and 28 count is much harder. 

The finished pieces are as follows: 14 count - 7" x 7.5"; 18 count - 5.5" x 6"; and, 28 count - 3.5" x 4". The fabric included also adds 3.5" on all sides to allow for finishing. 

The kit includes the fabric count size you choose, all the thread (plus additional if needed), a needle, instructions and beeswax for thread prep.
