Double Entendre Series - The Eyes Have It
The Eyes Have It is one of three designs in the Double Entendre Series. A “double entendre” is a word, phrase or expression that has two meanings, where one meaning is usually straightforward and the other is often humorous, suggestive, ironic or risqué. This piece actually has 3 double entendres within the design. It is truly a piece the viewer needs to think about a little to figure out the meanings. In terms of design, this piece uses contemporary post-modern icons for each image. The reward when finishing this project is a fun, colorful piece; humorous and visually stimulating waiting to be framed.
This design is considered INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED primarily because it is a large piece that truly requires the patience and skills of an intermediate to advanced stitcher. It is the easiest piece in the Double Entendre series but still better suited for intermediate and advanced stitchers. In the techniques section on the home page there is more information about tips for working on large pieces.
The finished pieces are as follows: 14 count - 10” x 15.5”; 18 count - 13” x 7.5” x 11.5”; and 28 count - 5” x 7.” The fabric included also adds 3.5" on all sides to allow for finishing.
The kit includes the fabric count size you choose, all the thread (plus additional if needed), a needle, instructions and beeswax for thread prep.
