Optical Illusion Series - Moroccan Tiles - Red

Moroccan Tiles - Red is one of 7 pieces in the Optical Illusion Series. This series explores the fascinating gap between what we see and what we believe we see. Through needle and thread, these finished designs invite the viewer to pause, look again, and discover that perception is often as creative as the audience. The designs in this collection allow you to create beautiful, contemporary pieces sure to spark conversations. Moroccan Tiles (Blue, Green, Red and Yellow) is a series of small pieces within the Optical Illusion Series. Each design can stand alone but featured together create an even better, bigger optical illusion. The designs look like tiles but also have a hypnotic effect while viewing. Eyes blur a bit, but the designs are beautiful to look at and for envisioning floors covered with these beauties. 

While most of the Optical Illusion Series is great for beginning stitchers, the Moroccan Tiles series is BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE because it includes half stitches. Half stitches in and of themselves are easy to do. However, the stitcher often has to "train the stitch" to make it work successfully for the design to look right. This kit is offered in three different fabric sizes from which you can choose: 14 count, 18 count, and 28 count. As always, 14 count is the easiest and 28 count is much harder. 

The finished pieces are as follows: 14 count - 3.5”x 3.5”; 18 count - 3” x 3”; and 28 count - 2” x 2.” The fabric included also adds 3.5" on all sides to allow for finishing. 

The kit includes the fabric count size you choose, all the thread (plus additional if needed), a needle, instructions and beeswax for thread prep.
